So what is on the schedule today.

 

We are trying to finalize some of the projects we started.  I received the lowrance/auto pilot connection wire which will allow the auto pilot to steer to a predetermined way point.  Have a lot of cleaning to do so maybe today we can straighten up and do some cleaning.

 

We are redoing all the reels.  That alone is many hours of work.

 

I know we are getting close to spring.  I just received the spring commissioning worksheet from NBBY.  That means give us the date you want to launch.

Still a lot of things to do on the boat.  It has been a fun winter with my neighbor Dave and our weekly trips

It is Tuesday which means back to the boat to work on some projects.  Plans for today include finishing the electric connection for the Lowrance graph, running the transducer cable into the back of the instrument console, and working on some reels.

 

We are also trying to find a brown and white wire.  This in itself is a project because the wire is in an area very difficult to work in.  I will keep you posted on this and other things we are doing to the boat.

I have great fortune in having a neighbor that is a great handyman and has tools that I do not know what they do. Dave and I have been visiting the boat in the heated storage building in Northport once a week to tackle a list of projects that I made during the first summer on the new boat.

 

If you did not fish with us last year, check out the picture gallery that has a couple pictures of the new vessel.  It is quite the machine.

 

If everything goes well Dave and I will have competed the list of about thirty items.  I know you will see the difference this summer.

Yesterday was the day for the lake test of the new boat. What a trip. What a boat. I am like a new kid with a new expensive toy.

We are almost done with transferring everything from the old boat to the new boat. Aaron has been helping a lot along with my neighbor Dave.

We have installed a new wash down pump and then Dave fixed the leaking handle. New downriggers have been mounted along with a couple rod holders from the old boat.

Cleaning the new boat has been a high priority and she shined up like a beauty.

One of the nice things is how quiet this boat is and how much room there is.

I know you will all feel very comfortable.

I made the plunge and will be selling the Bertram If you know of anyone that is interested please let me know. The listing is in the boat section of Craigslist in Northern Michigan.

The new boat is a Tiara 3100 open. Wow is it nice, seems to have more room, lots and a lot of upgrades compared to the bertram The boat is new to me even though it is a 1996.

I started looking a couple months ago and evaluated many scenarios. I wanted to do a lot of work on the Bertram and felt it might be better at this time to just upgrade.

I should have pictures up shortly. I still have to have the boat inspected and switch some of th electronics. New downriggers are ordered. I hope to be fully operational in the next week.

Fishing for Lake Trout has been fantastic. There seems to be a lot of fish and they have been hungry. A couple small salmon have been caught, but they were not big enough to keep
