May 2020
Welcome to the world of the unknown. We are all in a state of flux because of the pandemic. In addition, the state of the economy has us all concerned. Hopefully, everyone is healthy.
Our governor opened charter fishing and fishing guides on May 7. We are allowed to go back to work with several provisions. Needless to say those provisions are the same as the guidelines that have been established. Maintaining distancing, wearing masks, ppe equipment, and cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and contact surfaces.
I am personally reviewing the provisions and will make a decision on my business and how it might run after the stay at home order expires on May 28. A lot will depend on the guidelines and executive orders that may change around that date.
I am extremely excited about my move to TC. I have been posting on my blog and facebook about the many advantages of being in Traverse and the opportunity it provides.
Because the Boardman River is a stocking point for coho and king salmon, we should have a dedicated but short salmon season in August and September.
Last year the Traverse City fish management zone was required to reduce the lake trout catch from two fish to only one fish per license because of an over harvest in 2018. The DNR has just announced the return to a two fish limit.
My rates for this season have changed. Half day rate, four hours, will start at $450. Full day rate eight hours is $750. I offer an hourly rate of $ 150 per hour with a minimum of two hours.
Please visit the website www.far-fetched.com for more information and like us on Facebook, Far Fetched fishing charters. Watch my blog; I have been trying to post information on a regular basis about what is going on with fishing etc.
I am accepting bookings for this season. Please understand any charter will be based on the current restrictions in place because of the pandemic
I continue to build my business on past clients and referrals. I hope you or a friend will have the opportunity to fish with me again this season. Please call 231 941 4376 or email farfetched@charter.net.
Best Fishing,
