Well, we better be because our first trip is tomorrow. There is still a lot to clean on the boat. I will be taking the power washer to Leland today and try to get a lot of cleaning done on the outside.
Inside we will have to vaccum, wipe down, organize, and inventory.
The water tank has to be filled, rigs made ready, ice put in the cooler and off we will go.
Reports indicate there are a few brown trout being caught, but the lake trout have been hungry and available

Yes this could be the last back to the boat Tuesday. We have completed most of the projects and the ones that are left can be done while the boat is in the water.
However, this does not mean we are ready to go. The annual spring cleaning still needs to be done. That is inside outside, deck and even in the closets. All the tackle has to be made ready, even though we have worked on all the reels.
The big project for this Tuesday is getting the boat ready for launch. We have not been on top of putting things away after we used them. That means when I ask Dave for a phillips screwdriver, we both go looking. We will eventually find one but it will probably not be in the tool box.
It has been an enjoyable winter having the opportunity to do many of the projects that are usually done in the spring. On each Tuesday I take the opportunity to sit in the captains chair and visualize being on the water.
If I have not mentioned anything, the Bertram has been sold. The person is someone I know, my grandson. It has been a pleasure helping him to understand ownership of a boat this size and complex. I was a little bit upset when he called yesterday. Usually he has a question or an opportunity that I have to help him with. NO, he just said ” Sitting on the boat with a beer in my hand enjoying the day”

Love our trips to the boat on Tuesdays. Especially after the change in temperatures up north the past week. Had about 50 degrees on the ski hill on Friday.
Still a lot to do. I think this week will be installing the new scupper, doing more cleaning, maybe starting to work on filling the holes in the swim platform where the davit was located.
The davit fill is really interested and I am still trying to find the best way to do this. If you have an idea let me know. Right now I am thinking of liquid epoxy, bondo, or perhaps marine tex and then painting with a matching gelcoat.
I really got excited when Northport Boat yard wanted to know my launch date. Right now we are scheduled for the week of May 5 YEA

So what is on the schedule today.
We are trying to finalize some of the projects we started. I received the lowrance/auto pilot connection wire which will allow the auto pilot to steer to a predetermined way point. Have a lot of cleaning to do so maybe today we can straighten up and do some cleaning.
We are redoing all the reels. That alone is many hours of work.
I know we are getting close to spring. I just received the spring commissioning worksheet from NBBY. That means give us the date you want to launch.

It is Tuesday which means back to the boat to work on some projects. Plans for today include finishing the electric connection for the Lowrance graph, running the transducer cable into the back of the instrument console, and working on some reels.
We are also trying to find a brown and white wire. This in itself is a project because the wire is in an area very difficult to work in. I will keep you posted on this and other things we are doing to the boat.
