The boat is in the water and ready to go. Drew and I tool a little trip to make sure that things are ready for the upcoming season.
First reports are for lots of trout and some of them in the mid teens for weight.
Let’s go fishing

I cannot believe how good our Lake Trout fishing has been. We continue to have almost limit catches and some fish are in the ten pound range. This is the best kind of fishing for kids. Lots of action and smiles when that many fish are getting in the boat.
I just had a great report from a port just south of us that he caught three nice salmon. I have been seeing a lot of bait and if we have a batch of salmon move in they might stay a while. I can tell you that a lot of us are hoping that happens.
The weather has been great, time to book your trip

I thought because of the wind forecast that we would be heading to the islands and probably do some salmon fishing. However, mother nature changed the wind direction that eliminated that program.
We did fish close to Leland and picked up seven trout and one small salmon.
If I read my graph correctly, I did mark several fish that looked like salmon.
I guess more to come later

We are still doing well on Lake Trout with limit catches on a regular basis. We are seeing some fish well over ten pounds.
The wind forecast over the next couple days may force us to fish North Manitou island. I am excited and hope we can get into a few salmon. I will let you know in a couple days
I still have openings in July, give us a call
Just a heads up, this past week some salmon showed up around the Docks on North Manitou. There were a couple nice catches.
As I have said in the past, some boats were successful and others not so successful. I sure hope that these fish stay in the area.
I think we will have to evaluate each day what the primary fish target will be. We are still catching limits of Lake Trout and there seems to be no sign of this not being here for a while.
